Get unstuck.
Go a little further.
Start with the problem in front of you. Find the tool, supplies or route that makes the next trip useful.
Which tool do I need for this resource?
A material can come from several objects, and an object may need a specific tool. Use the item’s gathering instructions before spending durability on the wrong interaction.
| Tool | Useful for | Before leaving |
|---|---|---|
| Scrap / crowbar | Breaking junk, ice and compatible metal, titanium or plastic objects. | Inspect its durability. |
| Thumper | Extracting aluminum from surface deposits. | It uses manual winding. |
| Cutter | Gathering wires, rubber and fabric; cutting compatible obstacles. | Sharpen it as it becomes dull. |
| Twister | Unscrewing fastened parts, light bulbs and compatible doors. | Bring it when the interaction calls for unscrewing. |
The Pounding rig serves deep deposits and needs battery refills and maintenance. It has a different use from the handheld Thumper. See the Pounding rig recipe and uses.
How do I improve cold protection?
Fit protection materials to the chest, both arms and both legs at the wardrobe. Cardboard, Foam and Teddy Bear panels contribute different protection values, and some choices trade other defenses or hunger consumption for warmth.
In the suit planner, enter the number of each material you own and the cold protection you already receive from other equipment or rewards. Set the target required by your current objective, then calculate a combination. Panel contributions assume full durability.
Chill, Frostbite and Hypothermia are successive cold warnings. The game’s recovery hint directs you to leave the area or improve cold protection. Check the individual stage description, and look for warmth before continuing the trip. Service warmer repairs are a separate progression task.
How do I avoid another trip for one missing part?
- Find the active objective in the quest list. Its material button adds the required resources to your plan.
- Add any tools or equipment you want to craft on the same trip. The material planner combines the requirements and expands intermediate recipes.
- Enter both finished items and materials you already own. Copy the missing-material list, then use the item links to find their gathering methods.
Quest objectives can branch. Follow the active journal in your save instead of treating every listed objective as a mandatory sequence. For example, use the current stage of Three Antennas to decide what to add to your plan.
For food, the recycling calculator uses a separate nutrient budget. One nutrient mineral contributes 50 base nutrients; a nutrient pack costs 24 in the machine’s base configuration. That budget can make two packs with two nutrients left over, once your machine’s available slots and modifiers are accounted for.
Where should I look for collectibles?
Use the collection page’s area filter to see nearby finds, then switch to “Still missing” as you complete a region. Every record has its game icon and official name, a community location hint and a video chapter. Several items share a chapter when the creator covers them together.
The starting train and station give you a compact first search area: the toilet contains Babe’s trashy read, the driver’s cab contains the Brewcopter, and the space below the platform holds the Lootbox.
These location hints follow the linked community guide for v0.8.4. The current build supplies the names and icons. For a visual approach, open the creator’s video chapter beside the item; the chapter list describes routes starting from the train car.
What changed in Hotfix 0.8.8?
The official notes describe interaction, quest and save fixes. A guide recorded before these changes may show a different tool working.
- The grate inside PornHubble now requires the Cutter.
- The Coffinbot train door and drillers’ round door now require the screwdriver / Twister interaction.
- Fixes cover the loudspeaker installation, Zarya starter handle, taxi pump and the next objective after removing the intercom lock.
- Save-related fixes include the station chief’s head and the starting scene. The notes also address an Intel Core Ultra FatalError associated with an outdated AI Boost driver.
Installing the patch brings those fixes; it does not establish that every earlier save state or community route has been replayed here. Read our 0.8.8 explanation or open the official patch notes ↗.
