How to Reach 100 Cold Protection in Breathedge 2
Updated · Breathedge 2 Wiki
Five Cardboard panels contribute 90 Cold Protection. Two Knitted teddy bears with three Cardboard contribute 106; three Foam with two Cardboard contribute 102. Compare these full-condition panel totals with your target of 100.
Panel values: Steam Build 25201608. Easy-difficulty quest threshold: official 0.8.11 notes. Other equipment, rewards and durability are separate.

On Easy, 0.8.11 fixes the quest threshold
Before 0.8.11, the Easy-difficulty objective asking for 100 Cold Protection did not complete until protection reached 130. The official patch notes say it now completes at 100.
If you have reached 100 on Easy and the objective remains active, check the installed game version and current suit display. The fix changes the quest check; it does not change the panel values listed below or make every cold area safe.
Compare all five suit slots
| Panel | Torso | Left arm | Right arm | Left leg | Right leg | All five |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cardboard | 26 | 18 | 18 | 14 | 14 | 90 |
| Foam | 30 | 22 | 22 | 18 | 18 | 110 |
| Knitted teddy bear | 34 | 26 | 26 | 22 | 22 | 130 |
The table adds each panel’s contribution. It does not include protection from your other equipment or earned rewards, and it does not model durability loss. Compare it with the current number in your suit display.
Start with a combination you can adjust
| Combination | Panel cold protection | Panels increasing hunger |
|---|---|---|
| Two teddy bears + three Cardboard | 106 | 0 |
| Three Foam + two Cardboard | 102 | 3 |
The teddy-bear example places those panels on the torso and left arm. The Foam example uses Foam on the torso and both arms. The remaining slots use Cardboard.
Foam can increase hunger drain and reduce heat protection. Knitted teddy bears have physical-protection penalties and radiation benefits. Check the complete result and the materials you can reach at your current stage.
Find the materials available to you
- Cardboard: Throughout inhabited locations. Most often found as waste paper. extracted from waste paper with a cutter hand collection in free form (rare)
- Foam: Throughout inhabited locations. Most often found as foam panels. extracted from foam panels with a cutter hand collection in free form (rare)
- Knitted teddy bear: Throughout inhabited locations. Most often found in crates and panels. collected from crates pulled from panels with the Robo-Arm hand collection in free form (rare)
Include rewards you already have
| Achievement | Reward |
|---|---|
| Fighter | Cold protection +5 |
| Now That's a Snowman! | Cold protection +5 |
| System Administrator | Cold protection +5 |
| Weird toilet | Cold protection +10 |
Enter protection you have already earned in the planner’s Other cold protection field. Later rewards will not help with an earlier area you cannot yet reach.
Reaching 100 is a planning target, not a guarantee that every cold area is safe. Later locations may require heating as well. Pay attention to the in-game warning and your current suit condition.
