WHAT PLAYERS NEED TO KNOW
  • Carried objects and doors interact more reliably.
  • The sculpture fix includes a recovery hint for pieces already stuck in older saves.
  • Zarya antenna interactions and loudspeaker markers receive fixes.

Gravity changes should behave more consistently

The September 1 hotfix addresses two gravity-related problems. A yellow training dummy carried out of a gravity zone should no longer continue falling as though gravity were still active. Items also should not fall through the character model when a death occurs inside a gravity zone.

Single and double doors now react to carried physics objects such as the anime figurine or mattress. Train doors begin opening from farther away, and an incorrect wrench icon was removed from double doors. These changes target the awkward moments when transporting a large object turns into a doorway problem.

A useful clue for already-stuck sculpture pieces

Installed clay-sculpture slots now stop accepting additional pieces, preventing clay balls from becoming trapped inside a completed part. The official notes also account for existing saves: pieces that were already stuck should be sought about one meter above their intended position.

That clue is specific to this sculpture problem. It should not be generalized into a fix for every missing quest object. If the journal is showing a different stage, use that objective and the appropriate route reference to narrow the search.

Antenna, loudspeaker and control fixes

Repairing the Zarya shuttle antenna should no longer leave the character stuck. The loudspeaker repair also receives corrected markers: the speaker is highlighted during the repair stage, and the location marker is moved to the oxygen terminal rather than the station hatch.

Clicking the train lamp from a particular angle no longer restricts the camera to horizontal movement. The announcement separately acknowledges AZERTY keyboard issues, but does not present an AZERTY fix as part of 0.8.5.

Later patches continue to adjust doors and quest progression. Read this article as the history of the September 1 update, then use the newer notes when diagnosing the current version.
